Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the Respiratory Manager holds 24 hour authority, responsibility and accountability for Respiratory Care on the patient care units.
Coordinates interdepartmental services and provides clinical supervision of staff respiratory care practitioners, students and supervisors.
Develops and oversees the departmental and respiratory program policies, procedures and standards and assures that they are compliance with JCAHO, CARF, DPH, and other organizations
Actively participates in the development of specialty programs related to pulmonary care Conducts regularly scheduled staff meetings.
Participates in inter-disciplinary meetings.
Participates in the retention, recruitment and hiring process in collaboration with the Director of Nursing and Clinical Services.
Prerequisites:
Graduate of NBRC approved Respiratory Therapy program.
Licensed as Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Massachusetts.
CRTT (registry eligible); RRT, RCPT preferred.
Three years’ minimum supervisory experience.
Previous experience as adult educator with emphasis on public speaking.
Previous geriatric and rehabilitation experience.
