Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital - Bradford Restorative Aide Full Time - 40 hours/week M-F, no weekends Pay: $18.00 - $25.00
ESSENTIAL:
Assist patients with activities of daily living specific to culture, age and developmental level, including bathing, dressing, meal assistance, transferring, toileting, and routine skin care. Assists patients with handling of clothing and other personal property.
Performs clinical diagnostic tasks under the direction of the nurse and reports/records data as needed including but not limited to vital signs, measurement of intake and output, (stool and sputum cultures), weights, fingerstick blood glucose monitoring, and bladder scanning.
Follows Plan of Care treatments under the direction of the nurse including management of anti-embolic stockings, provides 1:1 supervision of identified patients at risk for injury, assists with behavior management program and bowel/bladder management programs, including ostomy care.
Follows Plan of Care treatments under the direction of the therapist including range of motion exercises, splint/sling management, positioning, sitting schedules, and ambulation.
Assists with transportation of patients throughout the facility and to other facilities as requested.
Reports any changes observed in condition or behavior of patients and unusual incidents.
Cross-coverage of general nursing assistant position, including flexibility in accommodating staffing needs as directed.
Efficient use of supplies and follows established charge procedures for patient charge items.
Performs activities using proper body mechanics for protection of self and others.
Attends mandatory in-services (such as annual BackSchool and Safety Orientation) and staff meetings; participates in performance improvement activities. Attends educational programs to meet his/her own learning needs related to current practice and/or age specific needs of the population served.
Coordinates daily group activities to engage patient socialization and facilitate meal transportation and supervision as requested.

NON-ESSENTIAL:
Assists with patient admissions and discharges as directed.
Maintains adequate supply inventory in patient rooms and on infection control carts.
Recognizes and performs unassigned duties as the need arises.
