Receptionist - Whittier Rehab Hospital - Bradford Per Diem, all shifts Pay Rate: $18.00 per hours
DUTIES: The duties listed have been broken into the categories of “ESSENTIAL” and “NON-ESSENTIAL” functions for the purpose of evaluating an individual with a disability’s qualification for the position. This section of the job description identifies all duties important in accomplishing the purpose of this position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Operate telephone switchboard, route calls, convey messages and provide information to callers as appropriate and as authorized.
Greet and direct visitors, ensure that all visitors and vendors sign in the visitor/vendor log. Issue identification badges and collect badges as individuals leave the premises.
Maintain a current listing of all in-house patients. Insure that only authorized patient and/or business information is given to visitors and callers.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Reception Services and as requested by various departments (i.e. typing, collating, sorting, preparing mailings, etc.).
Maintain neat and organized workstation.
Provides coverage for Lead Receptionist on an as needed basis.

Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the impact of disability upon an individual’s, as well as families’ physical, emotional, social, economic and vocational status, taking into consideration age-related issues, and developmental levels over the life span (i.e. the adolescents’ need to develop their own identity, and cope with life changes; and the geriatrics’ need to maintain their integrity and independence, and adjust to the physiological aspects of aging), and meets the competency requirements for the population served (adolescents through geriatric), as applicable to the job description.
NON-ESSENTIAL:
Provide photocopying services for various departments on an as-needed basis.
Organize materials to be copied, noting date required. Copy all material submitted in a timely manner.
Deliver finished copied product to the appropriate department.

PREREQUISITES:
Knowledge of growth and development across the life span.
Previous switchboard experience preferred.
Basic computer skills, typing.
Ability to communicate in an efficient and pleasant manner.
Must be able to maintain composure under extremely busy circumstances.
