Clinical Specialist, RN or LPN Admissions
Temporary Full-Time - 5-6 months. Possibility for permanent employment at end of temporary assignment.
$39-$41 per hour

We are looking for a nurse to join our busy Admissions Department located in our beautiful Rehabilitation Hospital in Bradford, MA.
Essential Duties:
- Supervises and assists in all aspects of the referral and admission process
- Insures clinical appropriateness of all patients admitted
- Collaborates with the appropriate clinicians to render a definitive clinical decision to Medical Care Evaluators when required.
- Insurance insurance pre-authorization requirements are met on all patients admitted
-Assists in the prioritization of referral assignments to Medical Care Evaluators
-Provides potential patients and referral sources with accurate information updates regarding the hospital rehabilitation services.
-Collaborates with nursing for appropriate bed assignment of patients.
-Demonstrates the ability to complete pre-admission assessments on potential candidates for admission and render definitive clinical decisions.
-Determines if patient meets criteria for admission and is likely to benefit significantly from an intense hospital level rehabilitation program in accordance with established payer guidelines.
-Insures appropriate documentation is provided to support all Medicare payer admissions.
-Demonstrates working knowledge of LTACH and IRF level of care.
-Demonstrates accurate FIM scoring for managed care referrals.
-Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
Prerequisites:
-RN with current Massachusetts license, BSN preferred; or LPN with 5+ years clinical experience.
-Knowledge of all aspects of the admission process, including insurance verification and pre-certification.
-Ability to coordinate, manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
-Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computer, copy machines, scanners, etc.
-Possess a high regard for confidentiality
-Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
